Editor’s Note:

This image is one of a series of paintings begun in 1955 that were inspired by a butchers shop near the artist's home. Coker painted the interior of the shop and still lifes of sheeps' heads, chicken, hare and pig carcasses. These were exhibited in London at the Zwemmer Gallery in 1956.
