Barent Fabritius, Dutch, (1624 — 1673). Barent Fabritius was a Dutch painter of
portraits and of biblical, mythological, and historical scenes, most of which have been
lost.
Barent Fabritius was the son of Pieter Carlesz Fabritius (1598-1653), and brother of
Carel Fabritius (1622-1654), both were also artists. He also studied under Rembrandt and
Vermeer was later one of his pupils.
