Hendrik Goltzius, Dutch, (1558 — 1617). Goltzius was a printmaker, painter and
engraver. He was a leading figure of the Mannerist school of Dutch engravers. Goltzius'
technique is considered unsurpassed, even by Albrecht Durer. His known prints amount to
more than 300 plates.
