About the Artist:

Francois Enault (1869-1918), was a French painter, illustrator and journalist. He studied law in Paris. But soon, Enault abandon the law and studied painting and drawing, earning his living by illustrating journals or books under the pseudonyms of MOB, Mondet-Tenclin or Jean Frinot.

He began painting in the Flemish painters tradition, then his painting shifted to the current of Impressionism. His paintings depict everyday rural life: market scenes, domestic farms, fairs, festivals, fishing and seascapes. [DES-01/16]
