About the Artist

Horatio Walker (1858-1938) was a Canadian painter. He was respected and commercially successful in his career. Walker worked in oils and watercolors, with studios in Canada and the US.

Walker’s work often depicts scenes of rural life in Canada. He was highly influenced by the French Barbizon school of painting and its agrarian subject matter. [DES-01/11]
