About the Artist

Kirk Richards (b. 1952) is a US painter. After graduation from West Texas State University, Richards studied with one of R. H. Ives Gammell’s protégés, Richard Lack, in the latter’s Minneapolis atelier.

Richards is primarily a portrait painter, but is also well known for his still life and genre paintings. He is one of the sixteen full Guild Artists of the American Society of Classical Realism and is also one of the few certified members of the American Portrait Society. Richards currently resides and paints in Texas. [DES-01/11]
