About the Artist:

Noel Saunier (1847-1890) was a French painter, illustrator and poster artist. He first exhibited at the Salon in 1872, showing landscapes, rural scenes and some historical subjects.

His first comercial success came from Belle Epoque images of stylishwomen in beautiful clothes on the boulevards and beachs, and of children with their toys. Later, Saunier changed his work, preferring plein air painting. He spent time in Saône-sur-Loire, Auvergne and in Charolais. [DES-01/16]
