About the Artist:

Véronique Joffre, France (b. 1982), is an illustrator whose work has focused primarily on illustrations for children’s books and magazines. Joffre is a graduate of the Estienne School, Strasbourg, in Decorative Arts.

Joffre has developed her distinctive collage-like technique using cutouts of recycled, and preferably painted and already colored paper, where she can play with forms and colors, and directly cut into the material. Like a sculptor of paper with scissors, she builds and associates different types of papers and textures, mixing colors and rough with more translucent surfaces. [DES-11/14]
