WordPress Pigged
The Porkopolis.org blog, “A Trespass of Swine,” is officially opened today. It is powered by WordPress and the theme is my own custom adaptation of the default WordPress theme Kubrick.
The Vitruvian Swine
The Vitruvian Swine is a combination of two familiar and iconic figures in Western culture: the pig and Leonardo da Vinci’s illustration of Vitruvian Man.
Clare Leighton
Engravings by Clare Leighton (1899-1989) have been added to the Porkopolis Art Museum. The images first appeared in her book Southern Harvest (1942).
HER! [GIRL VS PIG]
HER! [GIRL VS PIG] is a web comic by Chris Bishop. Gratuitously, beautifully, joyfully violent, this is the classic struggle of girl vs. pig. The Girl and The Pig are involved in interactions where they usually end up inflicting violence of some sort on one another.
Fengjing and Shar Pei
The most distinguishing characteristic of both the Fengjing swine and Shar Pei dog breeds is the wrinkled skin, especially on the face and shoulders. This seems to be a case of convergent human–engineered evolution.
First Pig to Fly – Lord Brabazon
The first historically recorded flight of a pig took place on British soil, at Leysdown in Kent in 1909. The pig was carried aloft by J.T.C. Moore-Brabazon, later the First Lord Brabazon of Tara, in his personal French-built Voisin aero plane.
Snout Trails
Back in a simpler time (ca. 1997) and space (Geocities pre-Yahoo!) cursor trails were cool to have on your web page. Now they’re vilified and it is suggested they might even be a trigger for epileptic seizures, brain hemorrhages and Adult Attention Deficit Disorders.
pig Latinized “Lorem Ipsum”
Porkopolis.org has created pig Latinized “Lorem Ipsum,” so now your HTML, XHTML and Wordpress testing pages can have the impact of pigs and Latin with a fraction of the trouble!
