Ellis, Lester M.

Kansas, (fl.1930s)

Pig

  1. Ten hundred million home rejoiced
  2. ‘Twas the ending of the war!
  3. A little boy with joyous heart
  4. Slipped softly out the door.
  5.
  6. They found him on the barnyard fence
  7. Just talking to a pig.
  8. The bright boy thought his heart would burst
  9. It had swelled so big.
  10.
  11. And he shouted to his curl-tailed friend
  12. (He thought they were alone)
  13. “Pig! Pig! the war is over!
  14. My daddy’s coming home!”
